Winter Colors

Currently re-mixing:

Most of my clothes as you can see are on the neutral side, but it happens to be because I just love neutral colors - oh, and because I'm a Winter.

What's a Winter you ask? Well, to put it shortly, certain colors look best on certain people. Trust me, you don't want to see me in anything hot pink!

Colors are an important thing to understand, especially in regards to each individual skin and hair tone. Just google "seasonal color analysis" if you want to find out which colors look best on you.

Must Have This

What To Do About Hot Weather

It's about 90-something degrees right now in San Bernardino, CA where I live, and it is just the beginning of a long, hot summer. The heat is here and it got me thinking about ways to stay cool when you have a 9-5 job like I do.

I have a really great friend in the office named Marisol (hi!) and we've made a pact to take a break everyday at 3pm - mostly to get away from the computer screen, get our daily dose of Vitamin D (from the sun) and get the blood flowing back in our legs. Here's my carefully planned tricks to beat the heat during our strolls:

Wear layers
My office environment is considered business casual, so I don't want to wear anything too laid back. What I normally do is wear a blouse or dress with small or no sleeves, and then wear a cute mid-sleeve cardigan over it. Wearing this in the office makes it cool enough and office appropriate, but during break-time I feel comfortable taking it off for a quick stroll around the campus.

Shoes that Breathe
During this time, you will mostly see me in sandal heels like these from ZARA. I don't actually have these, but I wish I did! I love how these are still office appropriate without being too beachy.I also keep a pair of flat sandals under my desk to change into for our walks.

Skirts/Dresses
My go-to item for hot weather during worktime is ofcourse, a skirt or dress! As I mentioned before, wearing one with a small sweater over it does the trick for me.

One last must-have when we are walking in the sun.. WATER! But I bet you already knew that...

Historical Landmark

Currently re-mixing:

Some random neighbor saw us taking these shots outside our apartment, and he was nice enough to suggest that I pose next to the "Historic San Bernardino" sign. : ) Super thoughtful, but maybe for my Inland Empire history blog... However, it did make me realize that although we live in one of the most notorious places in the I.E., we are fortunate enough to occupy one of only two streets in the city that is considered a historical landmark. Thus, the beautiful upkeep and maintenance of our street keeps me happy as can be! And I guess having an audience during our mystery photo shoots isn't too bad either.

Grey & Green

Currently re-mixing:

I think grey and green are a really interesting pair together, so thought I'd give it a try. It's super easy to have pieces that are in the same color family - or at least that go relatively well together - so that it makes for an effortless outfit every time.  As you'll notice, I don't carry pieces that are too hard to match with... it just creates way too much work for me!! : )

 Have a great week!
