FEDORAThis is a popular type of hat you might see in many stores. It has this Indian Jones-ish look to it, and is worn by both men and women. This comes in all different colors, textures, and fits - usually made of felt, and with some ribbon or band around the the brim. Also is usually pinched at the top.
BERETThe typical French painter hat. Typically made of wool or wool felt, berets are great in the cooler months, as they warm and hug your head. Notice some are fuller than others, so it's nice if you are looking for something to cover some or all of your hair at once. Try tucking all of your hair under, or look for one that you can pull more towards your forehead for a different look.
CLOCHE (rhymes with posh)This bell-shaped, tight-fitting hat resembles those worn by women in the 1920's. The brim is worn low on the forehead. During the summer months, you will see this made out of straw to allow for a bit of ventilation. Pair with a bow or broche on the brim for a stylish finish.

Newsboy (aka Paperboy)
Fuller on top, as opposed to a flat cap (see below). Name comes from a hat typically worn by newspaper boys in the early 20th century. I would say this hat is the one to be careful with, since it is a very casual hat and may not actually elevate the chicness of your outfit, depending on what you are trying to achieve.

BUCKET
Resembles a fisherman's hat, made of canvas or cotton. Most popular during the summer months at the beach or camping outdoors. Adds a stylish flair to any casual outfit.

Cowboy
Ya... pretty much never a good idea..... ya.

WIDE BRIM
Wide brim, or big brimmed hats are a great way to block the sun and look very chic at the same time. Looks good on pretty much any face structure and with any outfit.
